What E32 means on your Bosch dryer
Error code E32 appears on Bosch heat pump and condenser dryers when the condenser filter is clogged. Heat pump dryers recirculate air through a condenser to extract moisture — when the condenser filter becomes blocked with lint, the system can’t cool the air efficiently, reducing drying performance and triggering the E32 warning.
Symptoms
- Drying takes significantly longer than usual
- Clothes still damp at the end of a timed cycle
- The dryer feels warmer than usual on the outside
- E32 indicator light illuminates on the display
Common causes
- Lint buildup on the condenser filter — the primary cause in virtually all E32 cases
- Lint in the condenser housing — lint bypasses the filter and accumulates on the condenser coils themselves
Troubleshooting steps you can try
- Clean the condenser filter — open the lower access panel and remove the condenser filter. Rinse under running water and let it dry before reinstalling.
- Vacuum the condenser area — with the filter removed, use a vacuum with a narrow attachment to remove lint from the condenser housing and coils.
- Clean the lint filter — also clean the primary lint filter at the door. A clogged door filter pushes more lint toward the condenser.
- Run a test cycle — after cleaning, E32 should clear automatically.
When to call a technician
E32 is almost always a maintenance issue, not a repair. Bosch recommends cleaning the condenser filter every 3–5 cycles. If E32 persists after thorough cleaning, the condenser coils may need professional deep cleaning. Codes may vary by model generation and series.
